"Georgia made a tremendous sacrifice in the fight against fascism, and today we honor everyone who sacrificed his life to save the country," Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated in the Vake Park where he, together with the members of the Cabinet, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to honor the Victory Day over Fascism.
The Prime Minister wished a Happy Victory Day to all, especially the veterans, and spoke of their exceptional merits.
"I would like to wish all of you a Happy Day of Victory over Fascism, especially the veterans. It is our duty to appreciate their heroism. We must embrace these precious persons who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. Georgia made a tremendous sacrifice. More than 300,000 did not return from the war. The names of some are known, but some remain unknown. Therefore, today we honor everyone who sacrificed his life to save the country. First of all, I congratulate on this great holiday the war veterans and the families of those who are not with us anymore. I wish peace and peaceful, stable development to Georgia. Stability is truly precious, something we must all cherish," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
The Prime Minister wished the veterans, who gathered in the Vake Park, a Happy 73rd Anniversary of Victory over Fascism and wished them many years.
