The Government of Georgia welcomes the positive dynamics in the development of its cooperation with the Asian Development Bank and appreciates the bank's significant support of reforms, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said during today's meeting with ADB's Country Director Yesim Elhan-Kayalar.

The conversation involved Georgia's progress in reforming and economic development, with emphasis on the country's growing economic growth, trade turnover, export, and tourism statistics. The successful profit tax reform, which has practically doubled the country's reinvestment statistics, was singled out.

The parties discussed the key, priority directions of partnership with the ADB. As it was pointed out, the bank's 2018-2020 operations business plan for Georgia reflects the Government's top priorities for development and supports the strategy under the four-point agenda.

The Prime Minister thanked the bank for its financial support of the infrastructural projects planned under the spatial planning component, one of the most important parts of the Government's four-point reform agenda, also emphasizing the role of the ADB in the implementation of the pension, capital market, and public-private partnership reforms.

The parties discussed the bank's future plans in Georgia and expressed hope for the continuation of the successful cooperation.

The Asian Development Bank is one of Georgia's largest development partners supporting almost 2.5 billion USD worth of state and private sector projects.

The meeting was attended by Georgia's First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili, Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze.
