"The traditionally active cultural relations between our countries create an excellent setting for the development of our bilateral political, trade, and economic relations. We are glad to see the political relations between the two countries at the highest level. We welcome the positive dynamics in our trade and economic cooperation. Last year, according to our statistics, our trade turnover with Armenia grew 33%, which is quite rewarding," Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated during today's wider-format meeting between government officials of Georgia and Armenia. The parties paid special attention to the positive cooperation dynamics across a wide range of areas, including trade and economy, tourism, energy, healthcare, education, humanitarian and cultural directions, also discussing ways to enhance cooperation in the future.
"Our traditional, historical and current relations lay a solid foundation for establishing new and even deeper cooperation. I welcome our high-level meetings and interagency ties alike. I am convinced that today's meeting will bring about concrete results," Head of Armenian Government Karen Karapetyan stated.
The Prime Ministers emphasized the importance of deepening the close cooperation across a number of areas, also expressing their commitment to encourage the development of bilateral relations.
The Georgian delegation under the leadership of the Prime Minister consists of First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze, Defense Minister Levan Izoria, Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Prime Minister's Foreign Adviser Tedo Japaridze, Head of the National Tourism Administration Giorgi Chogovadze, and Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Volski.
