Sectoral cooperation between Georgia and Hungary is growing further, and it is evidenced by the agreements between the two countries' Governments, as it was emphasized at today's enhanced format meeting led by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The parties emphasized the need to make full use of the trade and economic potential and the importance of boosting cooperation in the fields of tourism, aviation, culture, and science. During the meeting, the operations of Hungarian WizzAir in Georgia were emphasized, with its flights from the Kutaisi International Airport in different directions in Europe boosting people-to-people contacts and promoting the development of tourism, especially in light of visa waiver. According to the Georgian side, the number of Hungarian visitors in Georgia has increased significantly.

The conversation also involved the importance of financing Georgian students studying in Hungary's top universities under the educational exchange program.

"We are very pleased to have this chance to discuss ways to expand our cooperation. I am very pleased that a lot of Hungarian representatives of the private sector, members of your delegation are here. A business forum will be held. We are also signing several important agreements today. There is a very good ground to deepen and expand our cooperation, and to fill it with more economic substance," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated at the meeting.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Hungary strongly supports Georgia's European integration. Viktor Orbán hopes that the relations between the two countries will develop further.
"We are happy that you have provided a chance to be here. This year is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, and Hungary thinks this is fundamental for the future, so we are here to celebrate," Viktor Orbán emphasized.
