Last night we had to walk a tightrope, and the authorities did well, these were the Georgian Prime Minister's opening words at today's meeting of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the law enforcements have succeeded in using just as much force as necessary, and now it is important to maintain order and identify the perpetrators who "crossed the line last night."

"Of course, we must redress the losses of those who have suffered because of these heinous acts of vandalism. However, we should also reserve the right to hold responsible the instigators of these events," the Prime Minister stated.

According to the Head of Government, stability requires complex measures and consolidation, and investigation must continue to identify those used for these acts of vandalism, as well as the instigators, in order to prevent such incidents once and for all.

"The number one task today is to treat the injured and remain maximally vigilant to prevent any possibility of provocation, because the power-hungry political force, which is willing to achieve its goal at any cost, including destruction, must be clearly identified as a destructive force that sees the country's stability as its number one adversary, which may seal its fate. Therefore, we must spare no effort to prevent everyone, who is taking advantage of the most delicate emotions to instigate chaos in the country and achieve their maniacal goals, from taking this route. In doing so, we must observe the law and yet be uncompromising in our actions. This is our task," the Prime Minister said.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili once again expressed his sincere gratitude to the law enforcements for their heroism and composure the night before.

According to the Prime Minister, an important precedent has been set which the authorities must adopt in the future, and which involves using just enough force to maintain stability in a given situation.

"Of course, we must work harder with the people in the future to make the presence of our unity known," the Prime Minister stated.
