2017-03-02

In his comment on the agreement reached by the Government of Georgia on the launch of a new program at the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Mission, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked the Government's economic team and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili for their work in this direction.

"I would like to commend the cooperation of the economic team with the IMF. I am especially grateful to Mr. Dimitri Kumsishvili. The completion of this important work has resulted in the announcement of IMF's new three-year program for Georgia, which means direct budget financing and gives the green light to all international financial institutions to finance Georgia. Our fiscal policy measures are prudent, our four-point reform agenda is very successful, and this program is off to a good start. The green light given to international financial institutions to act, for its part, confirms that our spatial planning program is guaranteed to be a success, advancing the country's economic dynamics to a completely new level. It also means many new jobs and parallel private investments. I congratulate all of you with this great start," - the Prime Minister stated.
