2017-03-02

We are off to a good start, as January, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, has proved very successful in terms of economic growth, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated at today's Government meeting.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili commented on and commended the January 2017 statistics provided by the National Statistics Office.

"January has proved a success. The 5.2% actual GDP growth is a very good result. Equally important is the fact that analysis of this parameter reveals a number of other important indicators. For example, export in January 2017 grew 44.7% year-on-year. Every parameter is very important. Similarly, GDP turnover grew almost 21%, and the number of newly registered enterprises increased by 33%. There are many positive parameters, such as growing tourism statistics. I believe we are off to a very good start," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated
