"It is with great sadness that I learned the news of the disaster in the Italian mountain resort of Abruzzo, where an avalanche triggered by a series of earthquakes has claimed human lives, including tourists.
My heart and prayers go out to the families of the victims, the Italian people, and the Government of Italy.
