Winter Season Must Proceed Unhindered Print Version

Take every necessary step to ensure against any hindrance during this winter season, the Prime Minister of Georgia instructed Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Zurab Alavidze before today's Government meeting. According to the Prime Minister, attracting tourists will have a direct impact on the incomes of Georgian citizens and the country's economy, which is why authorities must spare no effort to ensure against traffic-related or other problems because of poor weather.

"We are entering a new phase of winter tourist season. New sky lifts are about to open within the next few days in Gudauri, Mitarbi, and Tetnuldi. I would like to address the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development. I know you are working hard to implement important infrastructural projects over the next few years, but winter season often sees hindrances because of poor weather conditions. You and local authorities must spare no effort to ensure against foreign tourists or local vacationers running into any obstacles. It is vitally important because each tourists, local or international, will have a direct impact on the economic state of our citizens, especially the households in the mountainous areas and many others as well. It is an enormous complex that works for the benefit of the development of both the mountainous areas and the country as a whole," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
