Chokhatauri now has a new Art Palace. Initiative is valued as worth of 2.5 MLN GEL. Construction commenced in 2015 and was funded from the Regional Project Implementation Fund. The Art Palace was commissioned today by Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Acting Prime Minister of Georgia. It is equipped with modern lighting and sound amplification systems of international standards to enable the hosting of various types of events.

"Construction of the Art House was planned in 70's. The previous premises were demolished years back and nothing was planned for the site since then. This is a great asset now for Chokhatauri, Guria and Georgia at large. We prioritize the revival and development of arts and culture in the regions of the country. Children will be admitted to this palace to stage performances and watch films from now on. It is equally important to get the families back to their places of origin in summer and keep life active here with enriching arts and culture pastime. Children will be able to watch films and stage performances. It is vital for the local population, as many routine activities may be performed within the circles. Children will gain education in arts and culture. That is why I wish to congratulate the Chokhatauri population with this milestone achivement" stated the Acting Prime Minister.

Over 100 local individuals were employed for the construction. Peaople's Drama Theatre of the Municipality and Arts Centre will operate at the new Arts Palace. Building with a capacity of 350 people is adapted to people with disabilities.
