New Enterprise Opens in Gremi Village Print Version

A new enterprise, Saradjishvili Distillery, opens under the United Agro Project. Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited today this new enterprise, equipped with modern technology, in the village of Gremi.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili expressed hope that the newly established enterprise will soon roll out top-quality products in the local market, and that financial assistance from the state will boost its production.

With support from the state, Sarajishvili Distillery was built under the Preferential Agro Credit Project, with 827,000 USD spent on its implementation, of which 600,000 was allocated as an agricultural loan. The distillery is equipped with eight Charente distilling devices enabling the company to use traditional methods in order to produce top-quality brandy from wine for the local market. The company will produce 500,000 liters of brandy spirit annually. The enterprise will employ up to 150 people.

52 new enterprises have been established and 303 expanded so far in the Kakheti Region with state support. Under the Preferential Agro Credit Project, over 17 million USD has been allocated to support these projects.
