H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with Mr. Michael Kogeler, General Manager of Microsoft Corporation for Central and Eastern Europe. Parties discussed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by and between the Microsoft Corporation and Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, thereby elaborating on its significance.

In line with the MOU concluded today, Microsoft Corporation will equip 32 school buildings of the country with a Wi-Fi technology for gratis in 2016. MOU also covers the MS Office 365 Cloud Service, which will assist the teachers and students in the introduction of an engaging teaching and learning practices.

Meeting was focused on the opportunities of Microsoft Game and Education Resources to be offered at Georgian schools, introduction of simple teaching and learning applications, development of a single space for e-learning and exchange of information, along with the design of e-textbooks.

Cooperation of Microsoft Georgia with an Agency of Innovations and Technologies of the country was noted as vital. It was also mentioned that Government of Georgia (GOG) has a License Agreement, permitting the use of copyrighted products of the Microsoft Corporation at public institutions of the country.

Head of the Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the company for its consistent support and effective cooperation in the areas of education and innovations, thereby wishing to have relations developed further.
Meeting held at the Government Administration was attended by H.E. Dimitry Kumsishvili, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; H.E. Alexander Jejelava, Minister of Education and Science.
