H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with Mr.Gregg Alton, Vice President of Gilead Sciences today. Visitor has arrived to Georgia to participate in the Meeting of International Advisers within the Program of Elimination of Hepatitis C.
Head of the Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the Vice President of Gilead Sciences for their significant contribution in the Program of Elimination of Hepatitis C and noted that the program is progressing with great success, while the number of beneficiaries and cured individuals is growing.
In the opinion of the Prime Minister of Georgia, this is yet another substantial project implemented by the partnership of United States and Georgian Governments.
It was noted at the meeting that over 14 000 individuals have been admitted to the unprecedented project for the elimination of Hepatitis C since last April. Over 5000 individuals completed the treatment and 92% have been cured.
Gilead Sciences is a US company that is comitted to supply Georgia with medication until the full elimination of Hepatitis C virus in the country.
