Exceptionally free, transparent parliamentary elections took place in Georgia on October 8 and I would like to extend my congratulations to each of us on this important victory for our country! - The Prime Minister made respective statement prior to the Government meeting.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili elaborated on the results of the parliamentary elections of October 8. He thanked citizens of Georgia for the participation in the elections and for their vote of confidence to the ruling party. According to the Prime Minister, the elections were held in a fair and a highly-competitive environment and respective fact was reiterated by the reports of the international observation missions.
"Each and every international organization and observer indicated respective fact. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our partners, observation missions, international organizations, and civil society for such reviews. This was an important election determining an agenda of the future development of Georgia and the results reasserted the irreversibility of the democratic progress of our country," - the Prime Minister stated.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, citizens of Georgia in relevant constituencies still expect the second tour of the majoritarian elections. He hoped that the voter turnout will be high and "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" party will be able to fully realize their undertakings towards the citizens of Georgia.
"The elections are not finished yet. The second tour is still ahead and a high voter turnout is crucial. I hope that the high standards set on October 8 will be followed this time as well. I am sure that the responsibilities that we have undertaken towards each and every citizen of Georgia will be fully realized and implemented," - the Prime Minister noted.
