The Prime Minister of Georgia held a meeting with Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the United States of America Ian C. Kelly and Head of the European Union Delegation to Georgia, Ambassador Janos Herman. The conversation touched upon the October 8 Parliamentary Elections and ongoing political processes.

H.E. Ian C. Kelly and H.E. Janos Herman congratulated Giorgi Kvirikashvili on successful completion of the election process. According to them, voting was held in an open, highly-competitive and well-organized environment with a full protection of the fundamental rights of the citizens.

According to the US Ambassador, 2016 Elections proved Georgia' devotion to the democratic reforms. He also hoped that the second round of majoritarian elections will take place in an undisturbed environment and all political forces will act in line with the Georgian legislative framework.

The importance of the reports elaborated by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and various international observers was highlighted. Pursuant to their accounts, the elections held in Georgia were transparent, free and democratic.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked the Ambassador of the US and the Head of the European Union Delegation for their positive remarks in address of the Parliamentary Elections. He also indicated the significant role played by the EU and the international community in active observation of the election process.

Prime Minister reasserted complete readiness of the government of Georgia to ensure that the second tour of the majoritarian elections are held in line with the highest democratic standards.
