Large-scale investment funds to enter Georgia Print Version

Important agreements to be concluded by the Partnership Fund will be discussed today at the Government meeting. Pursuant to the said documents, large investment funds will enter Georgian market. Prime Minister of Georgia, for the first time the Partnership Fund will invest in international consortium concentrated on development of SMEs in Georgia.

According to the head of the Government, the Partnership Fund will become a partner of Canadian Investment Fund - "Gazelle Fund".

The capital of the "Gazelle Fund" is 27.5 million USD at the first stage, whereas its investment volume will increase to 70 million USD. Notably, the Fund operating region-wide is based in Tbilisi - hence, the 60% of the capital of the Fund will be spent in Georgia. It is noteworthy that International Fund "Gazelle Fund" selected Georgia as its base thus giving the country a region-wide significance. The fund's partners are also DGGF, the state investment fund of the Netherlands and the Dutch Development Bank (FMO)," - Prime Minister noted.

According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Partnership Fund is also implementing important projects for the development of the energy sector, within the framework of which, the well-known American investment group - Schulze Global Investments and European investment funds with extensive experience will enter Georgia thus making local investment market even more attractive.

"Schulze Global Investments" carries out global transactions. Its headquarters is located in Singapore. A very reputable international financial fun is entering Georgia to cooperate with the Partnership Fund. They plan to invest in Georgia. The Partnership Fund also aims to attract two more large-scale investors in the near future, including American Fund Maclellan Foundation and famous French investor Dominique Romano, that will undertake an obligation before the Fund to invest 10 000 000 USD cumulatively," - Prime Minister said.
