H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with Mr. Antony Blinken, United States Deputy Secretary of State today.

Topics discussed included strategic partnership between the two countries, democratic reforms implemented in Georgia, along with the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the country.

Prime Minister noted that the Georgian Government greatly values the US support. In this regard, PM Kvirikashvili stressed out the significance of the agreements concluded during the visit of Mr. John Kerry, US Secretary of State to Tbilisi, Georgia. They are designed to deepen US-Georgian partnership in the areas of defense and security, cooperation towards the extension of academic exchange programs under the Fulbright scholarship scheme.

The conversation focused on Georgia's recent consolidation of democracy and economic growth. The significance of US engagement and support towards this end was also reiterated. The Prime Minister and Deputy Secretary of State also touched upon the importance of a free, transparent and calm environment for the October parliamentary elections in Georgia.

PM Kvirikashvili noted that Georgian Government is committed to guarantee that the elections are held in accordance with democratic standards, inviting the largest number of international observers to ensure the highest degree of transparency.
