Prime Minister of Georgia hosted the Secretary General of the UNWTO at the business dinner.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked Taleb Rifai for selecting Georgia to host the first international wine tourism conference. According to the Prime Minister, this is the major step towards establishing Georgia's international image as a cradle of wine.
The head of the Government indicated that the unique traditional winemaking methods employed in Georgia, including the "Qvevri method" is listed by the UNESCO as an item of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Secretary General of the UNWTO Taleb Rifai considers that Georgia, an ancient homeland of wine with winemaking traditions that date back 8000 years, has a great potential in terms of developing wine tourism.
The head of the Government expressed hope that the attendees of the conference will spend good time in Georgia and bring some good impressions back to their countries.
The first International Wine Tourism Conference that gathered 250 representatives of 42 countries and around 150 organizations will end today.
