Tbilisi, 8 September 2016 - Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili expressed his gratitude today after the US House of Representatives passed House Resolution 660, a resolution conveying the House of Representatives' support for Georgia's territorial integrity.

"We are grateful to the United States Congress for taking a strong stand for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Congressional statements of support are a clarion reminder of the unbreakable bond between Georgia and the United States," stated Prime Minister Kvirikashvili.

The bill represents a major statement by the United States in support of Georgia, a key strategic US ally, and its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of continued occupation by the Russian Federation. Passage of this resolution sends a strong message about the deep and lasting friendship between Georgia and the United States.

The legislation was introduced by Representatives Ted Poe and Gerry Connolly, Co-Chairs of the United States House of Representatives Georgia Caucus, and had strong bipartisan support.

"We thank Congressman Poe and Congressman Connolly for their deep and continued support for Georgia. They are true friends of the Georgian people," stated Prime Minister Kvirikashvili.
