Prime Minister met with the Chair of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Print Version

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili conducted a meeting with Chair of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Christa Markwalder who is paying an official visit to Tbilisi.

The conversation touched upon Swiss-Georgian cooperation in various fields. Particular attention was paid to the trade and economic partnership as well as the importance of the Free Trade Agreement concluded between Georgia and the European Free Trade Association. Respective document was signed during the Prime Minister's official visit to Switzerland.

The parties discussed prospects of deepening cooperation in the area of tourism and the prospects of growing the inflow of investments.

Prime Minister outlined the significance of the Swiss aid in the area of developing of highland regions in Georgia and indicated support provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in the process of implementation of the projects.

Head of the Government also informed the Chair of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation about the Government's four-point plan that encompasses rapid development of the country, reforming of education and governance systems as well as modernization of the infrastructure.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Georgia Lucas Beglinger, Member of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation, President of the Parliamentary Delegation of the EU and EFTA Thomas Aeschi, Head of the International Relations Service of the Parliament of Switzerland Claudio Fischer attended the meeting. The Georgian side was represented by first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Manana Kobakhidze, first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkalian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Switzerland Irakli Kurashvili.
