First large-scale national exhibition of the Republic of Belarus of opened in Tbilisi today. The exhibition features products manufactured by 150 leading companies of Belarus as well as tractors produced by Georgian-Belarus Company. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Vice Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusiy.
In his speech, the head of the Government of Georgia discussed friendly relations between the countries and expressed hope that the exhibition will bring Georgian and Belarusian people even closer and deepen trade and tourism activities. Giorgi Kvirikashvili indicated that the goal of the governments of the both countries is increasing the volume of trade to 200 million USD by 2017.

"We came up with idea of exhibition in April 2015, when President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko visited Georgia. Exhibitions like this brings our people even closer together and inspire new ideas among the representatives of business ideas. It is a welcoming fact that Inter-Agency Commission of Bilateral Economic Cooperation will be held in parallel with this exhibition. We have growing, positive dynamics in many areas, including trade, tourism, etc. We have come up with the idea to increase volumes of trade to 200 million USD by the end of 2017 and we will achieve this task," - Prime Minister of Georgia stated.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, foundation of joint company producing cars and tractors was laid in Georgia and creation of similar ventures in other directions is planned as well.

"Yesterday we had a conversation with Mikhail Rusiy. We discussed the ways of widening this process to include other directions and services as well. I would like to outline that a very successful techno park that was founded in Georgia several months ago with the aim of funding startup businesses was largely inspired by successful experience of Belarusian Techno Park. We examined said Techno Park during our visit. I would like to thank our guests once again for this important exhibition. I hope that representatives of Georgian business circles will remain active and establish new, very important business contacts. I would like to welcome celebration of Tbilisoba organized by Embassy of Georgia in Minsk that was attended by thousands of people from our partner country," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted.
Importance of the first large-scale national exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in Georgia was assessed by Vice Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusiy. According to him, the exhibition supports reinforcement of the bilateral relations between the countries.
"All tasks will be fulfilled. Belarus and Georgia have common political and economic interests. We are glad to see Georgia as our genuine friend that stands by us and supports us," - Mikhail Rusiy noted in his speech.
Exhibits featured at the National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus include tractors produced by Georgian-Belarus Company. Exhibition includes wide spectrum of Belarusian products and services: mechanical engineering and transport, agricultural and food products, scientific achievements and modern technologies, oil-chemical industry and pharmaceutical products, light industry, and wood and construction materials, tourism services, consumer goods, etc.
