Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met today with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusyi. The parties discussed the main aspects of the relations between the two countries and expressed hope that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Tbilisi will further promote Georgia-Belarus bilateral relations.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Mikhail Rusyi discussed the potential of further cooperation between Georgia and Belarus in the fields of economy, information technology, transport, tourism, and agriculture. The parties underlined the special importance of deeper trade and economic cooperation, and prospects of increasing the export of Georgian mineral waters and wines to the Belarusian market.

The parties emphasized the role of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which will hold its third session tomorrow, as part of the official visit of the Belarusian delegation.
The parties commended the growing relations between the countries in a number of fields and expressed hope that the Georgia-Belarus Business Forum will further strengthen the economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the inaugural large scale National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus, an event that will be held tomorrow with the participation of large Belarusian enterprises. Tractors assembled jointly by a Georgian-Belarusian enterprise will be showcased as well.

The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This meeting, held at the Administration of the Georgian Government, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili.
