Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili conducted a late night visit in the Marneuli district hospital, where several dozen of persons, including children were placed after food poisoning.
Head of the Government asked about their health condition and noted that investigation into the case has already started.
Prime Minister was informed that around 200 people were intoxicated and as a result, Marneuli hospitals are fully mobilized. Meanwhile, several patients, whose health condition was comparably grave, were moved to Tbilisi. Ministry of Healthcare is fully engaged in the process. According to the doctors, patients' lives are not in danger.
"I would like to reassure everyone that there is nothing to worry about. Apparently, intoxication is quite serious, the investigation into the case has already been launched. Samples of food and beverages are sealed. It will be more than interesting to establish reasons of this incident," - Prime Minister noted.
State Representative-Governor of Kvemo Kartli region, Paata Khizanishvili accompanied the Prime Minister during his late night visit in the hospital.
