Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with the delegation of the US congressmen.

Main topics of the conversation included the US-Georgia strategic partnership, Government's 4-point reform plan and upcoming parliamentary elections.

Head of the Government thanked the congressmen for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, visiting village of Khurvaleti located on the territory adjacent to the occupation line and examining humanitarian conditions on the ground as well as for adoption resolutions in support of Georgia.

Particular attention was paid to complex reforms implemented after 2012 in the areas of democracy, human rights and rule of law, as well as the Government's 4-point reform plan that aims at swift development of the country.

"The delegation had a most fruitful visit with the Prime Minister, touching on, I think all of the things that would be important for both of our populations, whether in Georgia or the United States and the stability of this region. He walked through the 4-point plan that this Government is addressing, whether this means changes with regard the infrastructure or how you tap in the civil society. And I thought that it was the most productive conversation," - Head of the delegation, Congressman Duncan Hunter noted after the meeting.

The conversation also touched upon the parliamentary elections. Prime Minister indicated that holding of free and transparent elections, compliant with the democratic standards is the top priority for the Government of Georgia. Giorgi Kvirikashvili indicated that the Government of Georgia welcomes as many observers as possible, including those, representing the US Congress.
