Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili has met with EPP Vice President David McAllister.
The main topics of their conversation were Georgia's Euro-Atlantic and European aspirations, visa liberalization with the EU, ongoing democratic reforms and upcoming parliamentary elections.

Prime Minister of Georgia indicated that he welcomes David MacAllister's visit that will enable him to personally examine the situation in the country.

Head of the Government outlined the reforms implemented since 2012 in terms of democracy, human rights and rule of law that serves the purpose of consolidation of democracy and provision of solid basis for the development of the country.

According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili the Georgian government remains devoted to the European and Euro-Atlantic path and Association Agreement, including the DCFTA, as well as successful execution of Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (the VLAP) and Substantial NATO-Georgia Package represent a clear indication of this.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili expressed hope that Georgia will receive full support with regards to the visa liberalization issue from the EU parliament.

During the meeting particular attention was paid to steps taken for the purpose of ensuring freedom of media.

Conversation also touched upon the parliamentary elections scheduled this October. Prime Minister highlighted that holding of free and transparent elections in compliance with democratic standards is one of the top priorities for the Government of Georgia.

"We expect and welcome as many observers as possible, including those representing the European Parliament," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili stressed.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze and State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Affairs David Bakradze attended the meeting.
