Harvard University Professor summarized results of the two-day Economic Development Forum of Georgia in his conversation with the TV company "Maestro".

"I came to Georgia to issue recommendations, hold discussion on economic and structural transformation. We had very productive discussion on the topic of global economic challenges, as well as threats faced by Georgian economy. Throughout past two days we discussed various topics, including export, Georgian economy; we discussed obstacles faced by Government of Georgia and the ways of coping with them; we do not provide specific recommendations solely for the Government, we discussed new economic agenda and discussed the methods of managing industrial economy," - Dani Rodrik noted in his conversation with the TV company.

According to him, there was a time when many countries, including Georgia's previous Government considered that measures aimed at liberalization and stabilization of economy were the central types of economic reform. Pursuant to Dani Rodrik, this was a step backwards and an expectation that industry would develop by itself. "I consider that Georgia's current Government, as well as Government's of other countries, considers that more active economic agenda is required. The Government communicates with private sector, listens to the positions of its representatives and attempts to meet current needs. I is obvious that the Government shall listen to and take into account the ideas submitted by the private sector," - Rodrik noted.

According to Harvard University Professor, Georgia has a Government that puts thought into and analyzes the methods of overcoming economic challenges. "I am glad that the Government is virtually implementing the best practice in the area of amending the economic agenda," - Dani Rodrik noted.
