Whole Georgia is supporting you today. We need victories and I am convinced that together we will achieve success, - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili addressed Georgian sportsmen who are departing for World Olympic Games in Brazil.

39 Georgian sportsmen will take part in 13 Summer Olympic sports. That in unparalleled achievement in the history of independence of Georgia.

According to the Prime Minister 39 sportsmen in 13 types of sports is an important number for a small country that has impressive sporting traditions.

"Here you see the legends who have inspired us to achieve a lot of success in life, since sport empowers and triggers the will to fight. That is the great mission of our famous Olympians, to fill Georgia with positive emotions and the determination. I am sure that Georgia' national anthem will be played repeatedly declared the national anthem in Brazil ", - the Prime Minister stated and wished victorious return to the athletes.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked everyone who made this success possible as well as to athletes who obtained the ticket to participate in the Olympics.

Head of the Government also congratulated Brazil on the success of hosting the Olympic and said that it was a great honor for all of countries, especially for the one with an impressive sports traditions like Brazil.

The President of Georgia, the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, the President of National Olympic Committee, the Mayor of Tbilisi, the Brazilian Ambassador and representatives of the sports community athletes also took part in the farewell ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, Weightlifting Federation President Kakhi Kakhiashvili presented the Prime Minister a commemorative medal from the weightlifting world competition that was held in Tbilisi.
