Our cooperation and strategic partnership with Turkey has principally switched to a qualitatively new level, - Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated in his conversation with journalists while discussing his visit to Turkey.

Extremely successful visit - Prime Minister of Georgia assessed positive outcomes of the meeting in Ankara, where Government of Georgia expressed support to the democracy in Turkey and the country's democratically elected Government.

According to the head of the Government, Georgian delegation has returned from Turkey with very positive and welcoming outcomes.

"Five agreements, alongside with a Declaration were signed - as a result of this high-level Strategic Cooperation Council was established. Complex issues, including opening the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreements and increasing the list of products that may enter Turkish market from Georgia. This is a great step for Georgian industry. Agreement was reached in the area of agriculture - according to it. New negotiations on expanding Georgian export to the Turkish markets have been initiated. Sensitive topics, including building of hydroelectric power plant on the river Mtkvari were discussed - negotiations will be resumed based on the relevant researches; environmentally friendly location will be selected to remove concerns existing in the society. Agreement that ensures that Georgian probationers will serve their probation period in Georgia and vice versa, has been concluded. Overall, it can be said that cooperation and strategic partnership has principally switched to qualitatively new level and I am glad that such a positive meeting took place yesterday," - Prime Minister indicated.
