Within the frames of the official visit to Turkey, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili conducted a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey Ismail Kahraman. Head of the Government of Georgia offered his condolences fir the victims of the attempted military coup in Turkey. Giorgi Kvirikashvili underlined role of strong and democratic Turkey for the purposes of preserving regional stability. He reasserted his support to Turkey's democratically elected government.

The parties to the meeting discussed main aspects of cooperation between Turkey and Georgia. They outlined successful partnership across various fields, including politics, trade and economy, transportation, energy, defense and security, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Particular attention was paid to the trade and economic relations and it was indicated that Turkey is one of Georgia's important trade partners. Parties discussed the prospects of deepening the cooperation between relevant groups representing Parliament of Georgia and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey reasserted Turkey's unwavering support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as to Euro-Atlantic integration processes.

After the meeting Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey demonstrated to Giorgi Kvirikashvili the part of Parliament that was damaged during the attempted coup.
