Today Vlakernoba is celebrated in Zugdidi. Pursuant to the tradition, the holy relic - Saint Mary's robe is taken out of storage in Dadiani Palace History and Architectural Museum and available for the public to pay their respects at the Saint Marys' Cathedral Church.
Prime Minister of Georgia attended the Vlakernoba celebrations alongside with members of the Government. Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulated Orthodox Christians on placing holy robe of Saint Mary in Vlakerna.

"The fact that holy robe of Saint Mary is in Georgia puts great responsibility upon each of us. I would like to congratulate whole Georgia and whole Christian community on this day. I extend my particular congratulations to Samegrelo - one of the most beautiful parts of our country and to great people who live here. I would like to wish peace and better future to everyone ," - Prime Minister stated.
The solemn service at the Iveria Saint Mary Cathedral was performed by Metropolitan of Tsaishi and Zugdidi Eparchy Bishop Gerasime.
On July 15 each year Orthodox Christian Church celebrated Vlakernoba -placing holy robe of Saint Mary in Vlakerna. During the Vlakernoba celebration, the piece of robe believed to belong to Saint Mary was taken out of the Dadiani Museum and transported to the Blachernae (referred as Vlakerna in Georgian) Saint Mary Icon Church where pilgrims from all over the world have the opportunity to touch, kiss and honour the garment.
