Restoration works of Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport runway have been completed - during the Cabinet Session, Prime Minister of Georgia elaborated on one more successfully completed project. According to him rehabilitation works have been completed in an unprecedentedly short period of time - the project was finalized in 12 weeks.
"The airport runway was opened yesterday in Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport. This one more renewed infrastructure in Tbilisi airport. Around 70 million GEL has been invested. It is noteworthy that the rehabilitation process did not interrupt the operationality of the airport - this is very rare occasion and our airport staff acquired unique experience. The works were completed in 12 weeks. To make an announcement - construction works of new terminal have been initiated. Infrastructure of Tbilisi airport is being developed and becomes compliant with the demands of ever-growing tourist inflow that is noticeable in Georgia. New flight destinations are being added and I would like to welcome this positive development," - Prime Minister indicated.
