Prime Minister of Georgia responded to the events in Sagarejo Municipality and tasked Minister of Agriculture to define in a timely manner the reasons why the payment for the grapes sold last year by the farmers did not reach the addressees.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili assessed this fact as repulsive and demanded timely investigation into the case.

"I have received an information pursuant to which the payment for the grapes sold last year by the farmers has been misappropriated by a businessman and the funds have not reached the addressees. I would like to assign Minister of Agriculture with the task of investigating into the case and engage relevant agencies in the process in case of need. The fact that Government manages to allocate certain funds to subsidize grape selling notwithstanding limitations, shall not give certain people an opportunity to abuse the process. I urge you to investigate into this issue as soon as possible and engage any relevant agencies in case of need," - Prime Minister noted.
Pursuant to the Minister of Agriculture Otar Danelia, more than 50 farmers from various villages have been affected by this fact.

"We are talking about more than 50 farmers from several villages. We are talking about 200 000 GEL. There was an investigation that demonstrated lack of liable company's sufficient actives to restore damage to the affected citizens. We will accept this task and try to find a solution with minimum damage," - Otar Danelia noted.
