By the end of 2017 Tbilisi International Airport will offer new arrivals terminal to the visiting guests - the ceremony of initiation o of the construction works was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, due to the large influx of tourists, the construction of the arrivals terminal begins earlier than planned.

"Throughout recent months we have observed more than 25% increase in tourism, this indicator will be preserved and most probably these figures may increase. Hence, "TAV Georgia" begins construction of new arrivals terminal. I would like to emphasize once again that the Government of Georgia is ready to support activities of foreign investors, create appropriate business environment and offer maximum degree of protection to Georgian citizens and tourists," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted.
Pursuant to the Prime Minister, "TAV Georgia" is "TAV Holding's" subsidiary company - one of the largest airport operating company that in cooperation with its partner ADP manages around 40 airports.
"It is crucial that in recent years new air companies representing various countries have entered the market as a result of our joint cooperation. "TAV Holding" has already invested more than 100 million USD in amelioration of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports. Overall, additional 60 million USD will be invested in development of airdrome infrastructure and expanding and construction of terminals," - Prime Minister indicated.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili thanked the president of "TAV Georgia" and "TAV Holding" Sani Sener for contribution to Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport and development of Georgian aviation market.
The area of the new arrivals terminal will be 12 000 sq. meters. Around 500 people will be employed in the construction process. Tbilisi International Airport Development Project encompasses construction of the runway, taxiway rehabilitation, 5 parking lots for the new terminal and provision of the Passenger Bridge. Construction of a new terminal will be finalized by the end of 2017 and as a result, the airport will provide services to 3 500 000 passengers annually.
