A $120 million USD Georgian-Chinese investment project has began - initiation of the construction process of cement factory was attended by Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
In his speech, Prime Minister expressed hope that the project will be implemented successfully and as a result completely modern enterprise contributing to the development of Georgian economy will become operational in the near future.

"This is a great example of partnership between Georgia and China," Kvirikashvili said as he opened spoke at the ceremony.. We welcome Chinese investors, I also have to note one of the most experienced Georgian businessmen Cezar Chocheli who has launched number of ventures before and enjoys our full support within the frames of this project. Several hundred of local residents will be employed here and income produced by this venture will be very important in terms of the contribution to the state budget,: - Prime Minister indicated.

An agreement on undertaking investments and launching "The Black Sea Cement, ltd" was signed by the Asian-African Business Management company, Hualing Group and a Georgian construction company this April. The Black Sea cement, LTD will construct a factory with the production capacity of 1.5 million tons of clinker cement via the dry method.

The facility will cover 20 hectares of land in Senaki. Once constructed and operational, the factory will produce 900,000 tonnes of clinker and 1.5 million tonnes of high quality cement annually. Up to 500 local residents will be employed at the factory. Modern equipment will be installed at the factory. Highest standards of modern international regulations will be followed. The project will be based on the principles of "High Efficiency, Safety Environmental Protection, Recycling and Reuse of Waste" will be followed. A special noise reduction equipment will be installed to minimize the level of noise and protect the local residents from the production related noise.
