The list of high mountainous regions will be amended - pursuant to decision of the Government of Georgia, 99 settlements covering 38 000 people will be added to the respective list.
Pursuant to the Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, 38 000 more people will enjoy the social benefits envisaged by the "Law of Georgia on High Mountainous Regions". According to him, inclusion of these settlements in the list from the beginning was precluded by the lack of unified list of the settlements and systemized data.
"The fact that these settlements were not covered till now is caused by the fact that there were no accurate list and systemized data. However, we have ameliorated the system and we suggest to include 99 new settlements into the list that will thus cover additional 38 000 people," - Prime Minister stated.
