Economic Council reviewed the Report on the Measures directed at the Support of Export Print Version

During the session of the Economic Council, report on the ongoing and planned measures aimed at support of export was reviewed. The session was held under the chairmanship of Giorgi Kvirikashvili at the Administration of Government, today. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze presented detailed information on various activities aimed at stimulation of Georgian export, increasing competitiveness and diversification of export markets are planned. Said measures include development of preferential regimes for the purpose of trade development. Bilateral working groups with several countries have already been set up, within the frames of which development of export potential is being discussed. The process is ongoing.

Members of the Economic Council noted that introduction of institute of commercial attaches will foster development of export. Respective institute implies assignment of the special trade representative to the Georgia's diplomatic missions abroad. Commercial attaches will ensure active participation of Georgian companies in relevant events taking place abroad. They will ensure companies' proper communication with importers, distributers and customers, will engage in disseminating materials on export production and market penetration strategies, as well as in organization of trade missions and exhibitions.
During the meeting it was noted that in light of export support, new specifically designed institute w`ill be an additional and important tool. The institute will be presented in the near future.
