Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili opened the Cabinet Session by recalling the tragedy of June 13. The disaster claimed lives of 21 persons and 2 are still missing.

Pursuant to the head of the Government, remembering each moment of the calamity that took place in the capital last year is appalling, the only thing that can console us is to recall the consolidation and survival that became possible as a result of sacrifice of human lives.

"What genuinely consoles us is the sense of unity among our youth that was truly historical in those days. Expressing gratitude will be inappropriate and all I can do is express my admiration with the representatives of young generation that contributed greatly to elimination of the results of the disaster. When recalling events such as the June 13, April 9, you question yourself whether such a disaster has to happen to cause more mutual love and sense of unity in the nation. However, even remembrance of the sense of consolidation is encouraging to all of us, "- Prime Minister noted.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili also noted that the Government has already financed the purchase of housing for the 65 families that were left homeless after the disaster. The vast majority have already been resettled, and the process goes on, construction works are being performed to the apartments of number of people.

"More than 40 million has been allocated to rebuild the damaged infrastructure; damaged infrastructure of the zoo has been restored, various countries demonstrated their goodwill by providing animals to us. The zoo is still open for the residents of the city and various regions. Also, it is very important that the report was drafted to indicate the zones dangerous for living and health, which is aimed at reducing the risks in the future ", - Prime Minister declared.

The Head of the Government also recalled the lifeguard Zurab Muzashvili, who sacrificed his life to rescue 8 people. Pursuant to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, it is symbolic that one year after the June 13 tragedy, the Government reviews the proposal on improving the package of legal and social services of firefighters and rescuers. The proposal
was drafted on the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs George Mghebrishvili.

In case of death lifeguards on duty a single time allowance in an amount of 100 thousand GEL will be allocated to the family and the monthly support will equal 1000 GEL - the conditions are similar to those operating in case of death of a police officer.

"Of course, we have to wish safe working to all of them, but I think that lifting the Government's responsibility to this level is also very important," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted.
