Starting from June 10, all people infected with hepatitis C will be able to obtain treatment right away, - Prime Minister welcomes the progress attained by the Ministry of Healthcare in terms of widening the eligibility criteria for treatment of hepatitis C .
Pursuant to the Prime Minister, previously this type of service was only available to the patients with signs of critical illness and important result has been achieved as a result of endeavours of David Sergeenko and his whole team.
"I would like to thank you all for this truly remarkable result. From the day of commencement of this project, more than 10 000 patients have been enrolled in the treatment and it is significant that number of recovered patients is gradually increasing. It is welcoming prospect that hepatitis C may be overcome completely in Georgia. The treatment results are almost completely positive and this is a result of truly hard work," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted.
