Rehabilitation works of historic-cultural monuments – village of Chachkari will be launched Print Version

Our duty is to preserve, take a good care of and increase global awareness of our unique culture, - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated during the presentation of the unique historic-cultural monument - Chachkari.

Pursuant to the head of the government, general planning ensuring the preservation of the authenticity, historic image of the territory for the future generations and the world and increase awareness on the various stages of development of Georgian civilization.
"Few days ago Minister of Agriculture and I visited Bordeaux , where the Museum of Wine Civilization was established. President of France noted in his speech that Georgia is the cradle of wine civilization. This is the greatest accomplishment. Mayor of Bordeaux Allain Juppe also reasserted that this is widely recognized fact. We are proud of seeing the 4-level winepress," - Prime Minister noted and thanked representative of TBC Group Mamuka Khazaradze, representative of "Kartuli Sakhli" Gia Abuladze and "Geographic".
Pursuant to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, alongside with emotions and future wishes, the timeline of termination of the project is equally important and the Working Group will meet to discuss respective issue.

"This will be one more, historical example of public-private partnership. We plan to implement number of similar projects. Many projects are being currently developed - Racha development project that is related to territory adjacent to Shaori; we want to initiate large-scale project of Mountainous Tusheti that carries great strategic and cultural importance. These are not mere wishes - these are specific plans that we are implementing comprehensively and we count on the great support by the private sector. I congratulate you once again, this will be unique village that will be restored to become a precious jewel for Vardzia complex. Like Khibazavra vineyards, number of castles, Chachkaro, Saro, etc will represent the pearls in the jewel of our cultural heritage. National Cultural Heritage Agency, TBC Foundation and Kartuli Sakhli Union initiate rehabilitation of Chachkari. The village is located on the both embankments of the river Mtkvari and is one of the important centers of cultural landscape. Chachkari provided agricultural supplies. The winepresses caved in the stone produced large numbers of wine. Alongside with damaged terraces and more than 50 winepresses caved in the stone, 4 centuries old vineyards are also preserved.
