Prime Ministers are not authorized to direct arrest of anyone. Previously, such kind of instances were not uncommon in Georgia, however, we left this practice in the past, which is a very welcoming fact, - Prime Minister responded to the question concerning detention of persons participating in Kortskheli incident.

According to the Prime Minister, the government took the harshest measures possible.

"As a political figure, I consider that such kind of incident shall not go unpunished. The investigation into the case is already ongoing and the results will become known in the near future. Instructions such as "detain", "arrest", "show zero tolerance" are not issued by the Prime Minister any more. Such practice has been abolished and we shall not expect similar occurrences to happen again. Perpetrator will be punished, but the authority of making relevant decision is vested upon the corresponding agencies," - Prime Minister stated
