The State is under the obligation of conducting elections in a violent-free environment notwithstanding the degree of provocation demonstrated by our opposition, - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated while commenting the incident in village Kortskheli.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili condemned the controversy by the polling station. According to him, said incident shall be investigated and the perpetrators of the crime shall be punished.

"The events developed during the election process in Samegrelo are unacceptable and such precedents shall not occur again. We have to leave in the past the practice of conducting elections in the violent environment. The results of the fighting shall not be the main determining factor of the outcome of the elections. This is a condemnable incident that demonstrated the need for the betted mobilization of the law enforcement agencies to prevent occurrences like this. This event shall be investigated and the criminals shall be punished. Holding of peaceful elections and enabling the citizens to vote for their preferred candidate in violent-free environment is a matter of honor of the state," - Prime Minister declared.

He also dismissed the allegations concerning funding of sportsmen by the "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" as absurd and urged his teammates not to yield to provocations and avoid any chance of controversy.
In his conversation with the Prime Minister, he expressed condolences due to the homicide in Khurcha and considered this incident as a cold-blooded murder of the innocent human by armed criminals.

"I intend to go to Khurcha and express my condolences to the family. This is absolutely atrocious incident. It is an example of a cold-blooded murder of the innocent human by armed criminals. The state will respond to this fact. We are expecting relevant actions by the de facto Government of Abkhazia. We will wait, but we through our partners and international community we will attempt to ensure that the criminal does not go unpunished. Shedding innocent blood shall not remain unpunished notwithstanding the status of the perpetrator and we will achieve this goal," - Prime Minister stated.
