Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the US Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein discussed the US-Georgia bilateral relations during their meeting in Thessaloniki. The strategic partnership between the countries as well as perspectives of full utilization of energy, logistics and investment potential and probability of further deepening relations were emphasized during the meeting. The sides discussed energy security related issue. It was noted that Georgia attaches great importance to the strengthening of its functions as a transit and energy corridor country. American side expressed readiness to provide support in formation of Georgia as a regional hub in terms of logistics, trade and transit.

Ongoing and future projects, implementation of which is planned within the frames of own capacity and within the auspices of South Energy Corridor were discussed. The sides assessed importance of Trans-Adriatic Pipeline project. Hope was expressed that the project will aid relevant countries in developing economic partnership and ensure regional security. Prime Minister of Georgia thanked Amos Hochstein for the support provided by the US to Georgia.
