Anti-Corruption Summit is a good opportunity to represent Georgia as a regional leader in terms of establishing high standards of transparency and elaborate on steps and achievements in a view of eliminating corruption, - Prime minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili noted in his conversation with journalists in London.

Pursuant to the Head of the Government these steps are essential to attract larger investments in Georgia and strengthen the image of Georgia at the international arena.

"The effort of international community in a view of achieving implementation of three main principles is being considered within the frames of Anti-Corruption Summit. These principles are as follows: transparency, execution of international anti-corruption legislation and introduction of new initiatives and cultural changes in places where corruption is quite strong, We will be able to introduce Georgian practice to international community that is represented at a very high level here. It is important to ensure that countries with lover standards are unable to utilize the lack of transparency as their short-term competitive quality. The important of Summit is also entailed by the fact that offshore accounts are often utilized to accumulate proceeds obtained as a result of illicit trade of drugs and arms or through other illegal means. These proceeds are often used to fund terrorist activities. These phenomena are interlinked and it is impossible to attain unified standard without the efforts of the international community. Hence, we believe that the initiative of David Cameron to organize such type of Summit for the first time is very important and we hope that it will bring specific results," - Prime Minister noted.

Pursuant to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, establishment of higher transparency standards in terms of combatting corruption will be beneficial. Draft declaration that will be later adopted by the participants of the Summit has already been elaborated. Ministry of Justice of Georgia has participated in the drafting process.

Prime Minister also discussed bilateral meetings that will be held within the frames of the visit in United Kingdom. Giorgi Kvirikashvili also plans the discussion of cooperation formats with the Secretary of State for Defence and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
"We have established very fruitful cooperation format with the Good Governance Foundation. We have obtained substantial support from the United Kingdom in a view of democratic institution building. We consider that further widening of these formats will help Georgia to ameliorate rule of law, reinforce democratic institution building. Eventually, this will change the quality of life in Georgia," - Prime Minister noted.
