Georgia has become the co-chair of the Open Governance Partnership (the OGP), - Prime Minister made respective statement during the Cabinet session today. Pursuant to him, Georgia has been elected to co-chair the OGP during the session of the steering committee of the OGP, which is a result of the successful reforms implemented by the Government of Georgia.

"I would like to discuss crucial achievement - Georgia has become the co-chair of the steering committee of the OGP in the international format. This is a major achievement and is an international recognition of the relevant reforms carried out by Georgia in terms of open governance. The Chair of the Committee is France and we are the co-chairs. Georgia will become a Chair next year and this is a major achievement. Georgia has hosted two international forums in this area. In 2013 relevant reforms were launched. Georgian reform concerning the availability of the public information was named among the 7 most successful projects during the annual summit in London, in November 2013," - Prime Minister noted.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili considers that entrusting such an important international position to Georgia is a recognition of the achievement of our country.
