Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili attended a liturgy at Qashueti Church in honor of St. George's Day.

"For us, St. George is a symbol of the victory of love and kindness over evil. I hope you will prevail over evil with kindness and over hatred with love and unity. This is the only way to unite our nation and homeland," stated Prime Minister Garibashvili.

At the church, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II presented the Prime Minister with an icon of St. George. Prime Minister Garibashvili expressed his gratitude for the present and congratulated His Holiness and all Orthodox people on the holiday.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate you, your Holiness, and I am very honored to receive such a precious icon," said Prime Minister Garibashvili.
