The regular Government meeting was held at the Administration of Government of Georgia. The Cabinet of Ministers discussed 42 issues, according to the agenda, 8 issues were added and 55 issues were approved.
Today, on Government meeting, the ministers discussed the draft project of establishment of the civil solidarity fund. The project concept was jointly produced by the administration of the government and the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia.
A special working group was created by the decision of Government, which will develop an action plan for Fund and define transparent and flexible system of Fund operations. A solidarity Fund will serve to mobilizing funds from public and private sector and directing towards the priority social needs. Donation to the fund will take place on a voluntary basis by the individual citizens employed by public or private sectors, as well as for private companies. At an initial stage Solidarity fund will focus on meeting such needs of citizens, which is not able to fully ensure even in case of the state budget being fully socially oriented. Activities of the solidarity fund will be supervised by the supervision Board with leadership of a Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili. Government discussed and supported the issue of handover of residential houses into ownership to 550 IDP families by a symbolic price 1 GEL, it will be the second phase for handing houses to IDPs this year. The IDPs were given apartments almost in all the municipalities all over Georgia.
Today, on a Government meeting the state social-economic development strategy "Georgia 2020" was approved. The strategy covers three main directions; it considers growth of competitiveness of a private sector, mobilizing of human resource and access to finances.
