The meeting was held in the government chancellery of Georgia. The cabinet of Ministers discussed 26 issues foreseen by agenda, 1 issue was added, and 27 issues were approved.
At the government meeting the decision was made to approve "Strategy and action plan of Georgia's biodiversity of 2014-2020," its goal is to protect rich biodiversity and to plan the relevant policy and concrete actions of steady utilization of its resources, to set efficient and emergency measures for termination of biodiversity reduction. The plan consists of eight thematic directions, which cover the whole field of biodiversity.
The meeting also has approved the project of Georgian government order "on signing memorandum of understanding between the government of Georgia and "Trialeti 2013" LTD and "Mardihouse" LTD. According to the memorandums signed with these companies, the companies "Trialeti 2013" LTD and "Mardihouse" LTD" are granted an exclusive right to study the potential of hydro resources, to conduct the technical-economic survey of construction and to prepare the report on assessment of effect on the environment, for the purpose of building hydro electric power plant in the future. The aim of the mentioned draft law is to study and assess the country's hydro resources objectively for right planning and implementation of future power projects.
