On 100th Anniversary of Soviet Occupation, National Flag is Lowered to Half-Staff over the Building of the Government Administration Print Version

To mark the 100th anniversary of soviet occupation, Georgia's national flag is flown at half-staff over the building of the Administration of the Georgian Government.

National flags are also lowered over all administrative buildings.

February 25 is Soviet Occupation Day.

On February 17, 1921, the 11th army of Soviet Russia invaded Georgia. On February 25, 1921, Bolshevik troops took over Tbilisi. Most of the soldiers fighting during those days for Georgia's independence died heroes on the battlefield.

The cadets fought for Georgia's independence on February 17-25, near Ialghuja, Kojori, and Tabakhmela.
