In Sagarejo, we built a new emergency medical assistance facility

The medical personnel of Sagarejo's emergency assistance center will continue their work in a new facility.

This international-standard center is designed in line with the specifics of emergency medical assistance, with all conditions in place for personnel to work and rest.

10 new centers of emergency medical assistance were built last year in the Kakheti Region, of which 7 have already opened, with the remaining 3 expected to join them this year.

29 new administrative facilities of the Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center have already opened in the regions, and 24 more are under construction.

The project of the emergency medical assistance center is implemented by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, in cooperation with local self-government bodies. The project seeks to upgrade the country's emergency medical services.

Besides said project, significant empowerment efforts are underway in the country's medical infrastructure. In particular, in 2020:

 

  • More than 340 outpatient facilities were built or rehabilitated.
  • The ambulance fleet was replenished with 140 new vehicles.
  • Village doctors were equipped with more than 900 computers, and 400 outpatient clinics received medical equipment.
  • The Batumi Republican and Rukhi Multifunctional Hospitals were equipped and commissioned. And a newly renovated of the Tbilisi Republican Hospital opened.
  • To strengthen hospitals, under the state's support and with donor assistance, equipment was procured, including hi-tech medical devices, mobile ICUs, means of personal protection, and other vital items.
