Ozrugeti's public school #1 for 1,000 students has been fully rehabilitated.
The center for modern technology and innovation, built on school premises, enables students to master modern technologies. The building's rooms offer panoramic views. The building encompasses a conference hall, both closed and open working spaces, classrooms and computer rooms, technical units, a mini factory laboratory, and a green courtyard. The territory of the innovation center will soon have a sports ground.
Under the project, both buildings of the school have been fully rehabilitated to enable elementary and middle schoolchildren to attend classes in separately.
Adapted for persons with disabilities, the new buildings now feature learning spaces, labs with modern technologies, a library, a cafeteria, a conference hall, and a gym.
Ozurgeti's public school #1 actively cooperates with Horizon, a local vocational college.
Ozurgeti's public school #1 was established 175 years ago, at first to house a seminary, the alma mater of Noe Zhordania, Noe Ramishvili, Egnate Ninoshvili, Solomon Cheishvili, Avksenti Megrelidze, Varlam Simonishvili, Filimon Koridze, Niko Marr, Rezo Esadze, Akaki Bakradze, and other prominent Georgians.
Classroom studies have resumed in Guria.
Schoolteachers and administrative personnel are tested for COVID-19.
Schools are fully equipped non-contact thermometers, disinfection barriers, and surface disinfectants.
To ensure full compliance of the learning process with safety norms and recommendations, monitoring is underway.
The Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport has updated its recommendations in light of the resumption of in-person studies.
Despite the pandemic, educational infrastructure projects were implemented without delays throughout 2020, with:

  • 30 schools built
  • Wet areas rehabilitated in almost 800 public schools
  • 9 public schools have been fully rehabilitated, and over 150 public schools have been partially rehabilitated
  • Construction of 60 schools to be finalized in 2021

Rehabilitation has started in more than 100 public schools.
